Worsley’s specialises in bespoke teas, served in vintage china, and artisan coffees accompanied by traditional home made cakes and freshly prepared light lunches. The ethos of Worsley’s is to provide fresh, homemade quality produce in relaxed, elegant surroundings.

Since opening on Good Friday this year, we have been thrilled to have welcomed amongst our first visitors to Worsley’s, Mr and Mrs C Worsley, direct descendants of the renowned family. They were delighted to see that their family was still of local interest.

In the coming months Worsley’s will be hosting speciality evenings, the first being “A Taste of Italy” on Friday 20th July 2018, introducing an up and coming opera singer.

We and our great team look forward to welcoming you to Worsley’s. You may wish to admire the Worsley related artwork adorning the walls, it may make you blush!

About

We spotted the Bat’s Wing Tea Rooms and Lace Shop in Godshill at the foot of the Church many years ago and instantly fell in love with its quintessential Isle of Wight character, chocolate box with wisteria running around the windows. The opportunity was recently grasped to take on the property and with loads of tlc and imagination it has been transformed into hopefully one of the Islands best tea room destinations.

Living in Godshill and walking our dog around Appuldurcombe, we were fascinated by the history of the Worsley family and their Island connection, particularly their marital shenanigans! Together with the Worsley connection with Godshill Church it felt only proper to rename the building Worsley’s Tea Rooms and Bistro.

Telephone – apologies

We’re feeling a bit incomplete at the moment as we are still waiting for BT to install our new phone line. Hopefully it won’t be too long. We’ll have it up on the site as soon as it is working!
